Remember the book 1984? The one with Big Brother looking over your shoulder? Well... we're closer than you think. It seems that every color laser printer (yes every brand of color laser printer) actually prints a very tiny mark that is less than 1mm wide on every single page printed from the printer.
The mark is put there by the manufacturer to help identify the exact machine used to prevent counterfeiting. But still its a little disconcerting to know that every color page printed on a laser can be traced to an exact machine. Be warned all you pranksters, Big Brother is watching.
