Weekend Update

Isn't this pic just too cute? I'm more a dog person but this kitten could covert me. Actually its so cute that I think it might have been photoshopped.

I'm currently in Pittsburg visiting eins, we're gonna watch Senerity together, gotta have company for such a momentious event (Yes my life is boring enough that an anticipated movie premiere is an event).

Got up at 4am to catch a 6am flight and got here about 11am. We had indian buffet for lunch and watched a few DVD's. Including the Sci-Fi Channel Senerity Special. We have reservations at 7pm for a great Japanese restaurant called Chaya which will serve 10-15 very unique and colorful courses (Not the typical sushi/sashimi you find everywhere). Then its off for a 11:05 viewing of Senerity. Oh and I get to meet eins' new beau which if you've been reading her blog is... interesting **grin**

Be prepared for food pics when I get home.

Hunk of the Week

Name: Jan E

Another "nameless" model, this one from John Anderson.
But oh soooo fine don't you think ? :)

Senerity vs Into the Blue

Who will win this weekend? My money and hopes are riding on Senerity. The only only only reason to watch Into the Blue is for Paul Walker and Jessica Alba (depending on which way you swing) But let's be honest, I'd rather rent Into the Blue on DVD then watch it at the movies.

GO SENERITY!!!

VS

I got hitched!

Well... actually my alter ego got hitched in Fable-The Lost Chapters. It was pretty easy to accomplish, it took 10+ complements, 4 boxes of chocs, a rose, a wedding ring and a house. The benefits? I can get some bed action if I speak to my hubby near a bed.

The game is quite moral actually, won't allow any bed action until you get hitched. And no nudity, instead the screen goes black and you hear a sexy british voice. (Everyone speaks with either a british or schttish accent)

Hehehe now to sow more wild oats. I'm gonna get a hubby in every town. Might even get a barmaid just for some variety :)

Ever felt like a nobody?

I was surfing Wikipedia and decided to look up the year I was born. Here's a list of persons I found born in the same year. At first it was fun... then I started feeling depressed comparing myself to them. Am I being too sensitive?

These guys are the exact same age I am, down to the day.
Of course now that I'm depressed I'm gonna go play Fable and beat the crap out of some monsters.

Guess-the-Google Game

Just found this game. It's actually very fun and challenging. The aim is to guess what word when typed in google will retrieve the collage of photos that you see.

My highest score so far is 246, not quite good enough to get on the top 10 but I'm still trying.

Fable

There's been a lack of blogs this weekend cos I was working Saturday and I also got a new game called Fable:The Lost Chapters. Its an awesome game that let's you custimize the way you look from hair to beard to physique and you've even got to be careful in combat because you can get scarred. Even your actions will affect your eventual outcome. It came out on the XBOX first and now its on the PC.

Heh heh heh you can even decide your sexuality, have sex and if you want to get married or not. And before you ask, yes you can be a big baddie, and destroy town after town after town and become the devil incarnate (In Theory).

Here are some of my different looks.

Here's a pic of me scarred, so obviously I had to reload and waste over 2 hours of gaming cos I want my hero to be scar free. At least on the face.

This is me right now. I know the beard is icky, I'm looking for a van dyke style and a good looking hair cut.

Oh No, What a waste of resources

Universal is bringing another "Fast and the Furious" sequel to theaters, and it's a movie that may star Vin Diesel, but possibly not Paul Walker.

People People People, there are better shows to watch that the "Fast and the Furious". Sigh...

After seeing this I did some checking. Fast and the Furious (2001) raked in $207 million worldwide and cost $38 million to make. Fast and the Furious 2 (2003) raked in $236 million and cost $76 million to make.

So its no wonder we are seeing a 3rd sequel. Am I missing something? I saw the 1st show and it was a passable action flick. Should I borrow the 2nd show?

Hunk of the Week

Sebastian Siegel

Date of birth: 6 March 1974 Oxford, England, UK

I'm sure you've seen him before on the covers of any number of fitness magazines. He's good looking, built like a rock and speaks with an accent, what's not to like :)

Below is his official bio and an interview from the AHF magazine in Sep 2004. Enjoy!
Sebastian was born in Oxford, England, but only stayed there a few years before moving to Hawaii. There, he spent summers kayaking, surfing, jumping from waterfalls and studying theatre. He attended school in Texas and then Connecticut, where he excelled in strong theatre programs. He then headed for the University of Hawaii, where his father is a professor of comparative religions (and author recently nominated for a Pulitzer.) There he continued studying theatre and began working as an actor.

Plague infects World of Warcraft Players

Bodies bodies everywhere. In the latest update/patch for World of Warcraft, a new dungeon was introduced. And in this dungeon some new monsters, some of whom cause players to catch a very contagious plague.

Some ingenious players have figured out how to bring the plague to highly populated areas like Ironforge where there are always hundreds of players. The plague spreads like wildfire and does 250-300 dmg every few seconds meaning that unless you're over level 50, you're dead (The max level is 60). The result is widespread deaths and carnage.

I'm sure this is very disruptive to some players and not what the developers intended but for the more jaded players (like me) this is a barrel of laughs. LOL!!!

Here's a video of the plague in action.

2005 Fall TV Review - Part 1

Threshold

Sypnosis- UFO lands on earth, allens take over 5 individuals, secret task force setup to search them out.

NBC spent lots of money on this series and it shows in the production value. Some of the cast is very good and draws you in, especially the main actor and actress. Although I might rethink some of the supporting cast.

Some reviewers panned this show and I'm not quite sure why. The 2 hour series permiere was fairly good and drew you in. The success of the series will be in the writing. The subject matter isn't really original and while the first episode set things up, it will depend on how they follow through. I don't think an X-files scenario where they drag the whole thing out over 5 years will work.

My thoughts? If they take a tip from The 4400 and move the plots up making each episode add value to the whole picture, this might be a huge hit. (7/10)

Supernatural

Sypnosis- A family (2 brothers) are trained to solve/investigate strange happenings by their father after mother get's killed by a strange creature. Brothers are grown up and now solve/investigate strange happenings themselves.

- I really wanted to like this show, but so far I'm still unimpressed. Our 2 heroes, while good looking don't exactly have much screen presense. On top of this the plot for the first show is just barely passable. Typical WB fair which means ... nothing original or unique or engaging. If the plots don't jazz up, this series won't see a 2nd season. I mean come on! The big scary mystery for the pilot was a "White Woman", aka female who committed suicide and soul is not at rest. HELLO!?! Even the term "White Woman" seems so ... mundane. 10 years ago this might have been interesting but not today. (3/10)

House

Season 2 and I'm happy to report that Mr. House is as big a bastard as he was in Season 1. The dialogue is excellent, scarcastic, biting. I'm assuming that his ducklings (the 3 docters under him) will be developed a little more but as long as House remains a bastard and keeps up his off beat humor, this series will be a huge crowd pleaser. (9/10)

Gilmore Girls

I love this series despite the fact that its on WB. The writing is intelligent, and the cast very very likable. Did I mention I love this series? This season will focus on Rory and her mother's falling out and its not painful to watch, in fact the series makes you eager for a confrontation.

And in true form the supporting cast continue their excellent quirkyness. LOL, Kurt romances old ladies so that he can get their diamond rings after they pass on, GENIUS! and not as icky as it sounds, you just gonna know Kurt to understand. (9/10)

Bones

Sypnosis- In a nutshell its about and an anthropologist and a FBI agent who solve crimes a la CSI style.

- I had idea what this show was about before watching it aside that David Boreanaz (Angel) was in it. I'll admit that Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz have good chemistry, for that matter the whole supporting cast is fairly good too. But there are already so many shows like this, CSI, Crossing Jordan, etc etc etc. Do we really need another one? I was not suitably impressed or unimpressed with this show. Its pretty average fair although production quality and acting was quite good. (6/10)

Medium

This show was interesting in season 1. But for season 2 they need a new hook. Her having psychic powers just isn't enough. The writing is pretty good but... I just don't feel the cast gelling together. I'll probably tune in for a couple more episodes but unless they do SOMETHING different, I'll probably drop it. (6/10)

Surface

Sypnosis- Something in the water lurks.

I was not really into this show and the previews did nothing to draw me in. But after watching the pliot I'm really pumped about this show. The production values are excellent, the studios are obviously throwing tons of money on this series and its not just a simple creature in the water concept. This is a potential alliens came billions of years ago and were in stasis under the oceans for all this time but are now waking up. Are they Alliens? Its not confirmed but this is happening on a global scale and these things are ... dangerous. Yep, I went from disinterest to really pumped in about 30 mins. (9/10)

Las Vegas

Season 3. I have to say that I was losing interest in the show towards the middle of season 2, but the fanale really perked my interest. They actually blew up the whole casio. And now they are starting with most of the old cast and some new additions to spice things up and it looks like they are going after what made them a hit in the first place. Basically putting the SIN back in SIN city.

Heh heh heh having a scene with Josh shirtless in the hot LV sun is reason enough for me to tune in. Here's to hoping for more Sin. (8/10)

Las Vegas - Season 3

Some screenies from The premiere of Las Vegas (Season 3) and it explains 40% of why I continue to watch the show. Heh heh heh considering this shot was not in anyway necessary, seems the suits at NBC agree with me.

Hunks aside, the show is pretty good and if you happen to like Las Vegas its almost a must see.

Playing with your Food

Remember when your parents told you not to play with your food? Heh heh heh, obviously someone didn't listen.
